Choosing a Teflon® Encapsulated O-Ring for your Application
When choosing an encapsulated o-ring for extreme sealing, it is important to match chemical resistance properties, mechanical strength at operating temperatures, compression set resistance and cost of material to application parameters. The most important choice is the elastomer core material: Click here for general comparison chart of extruded elastomers that M-Cor Inc. manufactures for conversion into o-rings, gaskets, encapsulated o-rings and chemical hose or tubing. Secondly, choose a Teflon® FEP encapsulation for general applications with operating temperatures of 400 degrees F or choose A TEflon® PFA encapsulation for extreme applications with operating temperatures up to 500 degrees F.
