	How to specify an elastomer material for extreme sealing:

When choosing an elastomer for extreme sealing, it is important to match chemical resistance properties, mechanical strength at operating temperatures, compression set resistance and cost of an elastomer to application parameters. RECOMMENDATION: Encapsulate to Increase cycle times

All plastics, including Teflon, are subject to chemical permeation, therefore, gfs_etp_encapsulated02 in extreme sealing applications, it is important to match the elastomer core material to the application parameters in order to increase seal cycle times. All of the elastomers listed below are available with either a Teflon FEP (click for specs) or Teflon PFA (click for specs) encapsulation for conversion into encapsulated o-rings, gaskets or sealing devices.
